Structure & Body
This was a group project and was widely known as the bamboo project. We were divided into a group of 20 people, and tasked with designing and building a bamboo structure specific to the activity of 'Celebrating'.
Bamboo Structure
The concept of the structure was celebrating togetherness. Where the targeted audience, elderly residents of the park can enjoy themselves together while seated. The structure surrounds a tree to incorporate it more with the site given to us. The structure has seats facing each other which makes interacting with each other easier. It also has a bit of roof that provides shade. The overall design principle was balance and symmetry. The design incorporated triangles as the base shape,and we used said triangles to create a parabolic shape for the roof.

Personal Role
Given my background as a scout in high school, I had a lot of experience building bamboo structures. So for this group project, I was the one responsible for tying most of the joints of the structure using rope with my teammates providing support for me.
Presentation Board
The presentation board was assigned to the drawing team's to complete. We communicated with each other about the knotting used to tie the structure as well as the different details to allow the drawing team to accurately translate them into drawings. Along the way, the design changes were made and thus the drawings had to change as well

Reflection
Though this project was tough both physically and mentally, with some group members not even showing up, I had a great time in this project and learned a lot from it. I made friends with a lot of team membes. I learned interpersonal skills and resilience . Plus I have gained new experience with using different electronic skills such as drills and automated saws.
